UKIR-UKIRAN BATU DI DINDING BOROBUDUR

Watching people intrepretating the reliefs of Borobudur... trying to understand what they mean... I am reminded that something has meaning because it is interconnected with something else. The more interconnectedness we're able to see, the more meaning we'll be able to understand, and the more rich we become -- rich in understanding.

Watching people see the Buddha statues inside the stupas... I am reminded that to understand something or someone... we have to approach that something or someone, and look deep into that something or someone. Not just looking from a distance and from the surface.

Don't know how many times I've been here... Borobudur never cease to facinate me... enlighten me... all those symbols... all those teachings. The teachings of Buddha has indeed touched me. Even though I am a Moslem, I cannot just limit my life based on Moslem teachings when in reality I am also touched by other teachings. I feel what Gandhi once said: "I consider myself a Hindu, Christian, Moslem, Jew, Buddhist, and Confucian."
